MACS (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support)

Description: MACS is the UK's national charity for children born with one or more of three rare conditions, Microphthalmia (small, underdeveloped eye), Anophthalmia (no eye) and Coloboma (a gap or cleft in the eye structure). Through core values of offering acceptance, inspiring trust and providing opportunity, MACS supports a community of around 3,000 people across the UK, from over 1,000 families.

MACS family helpline

Telephone helpline offering advice and support to parents of children born without eyes or with under-developed eyes.

Grants from MACS

MACS gives grants to cover the cost of activities or equipment needed by children born without eyes, or with under-developed eyes. You must have been a member of MACS for at least 6 month to apply.

Activities for young people

MACS organises sailing trips and adventure weekends for young people with MACS conditions.

MACS Meet Up (Newport)

MACS, the UK's national charity for children born with one or more of three rare conditions (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma), is holding a Meet Up in Newport for members. MACS Meet Ups are new regional events which help bring the charity's members together in a nearby town. They will include kids' activities, a guest speaker (e.g. advice on education options) and a place for members of all ages to get together. The event will be held at the Holiday Inn in Newport, and is free to members. For more information and to boook a place, click the link provided.
