Fight for Sight's 'Time to Focus' report shows the impact and costs of sight loss, and the need for more research funding
Fight for Sight, the UK charity which funds pioneering eye research, has produced a produced a report which looks at the scale of sight loss in the UK, its impact on the people affected, and the cost to the economy, and the need for a significant increase in research funding.
The report finds that, although the UK's ageing population means that the most prevalent eye conditions are becoming more common, research for new treatments and cures is desperately under funded. The detailed, 124-page report includes a wide range of statistics including figures for Wales.
