Results of 'Counting the Cost' survey reveal financial impact of the pandemic
'Counting the Cost' is the annual survey carried out by Contact, the charity for families with disabled children. The results of the 2021 survey have been published, and they show the devastating financial effect of the pandemic on these families across the UK.
Almost half of families with disabled children report a devastating drop in household income of £48 a week. Contact is now calling for a benefits and support system that genuinely values carers, and is asking supporters to email a template letter to their MP calling for change.
