Come and visit Guide Dogs Cymru in Cardiff this month

Guide Dogs Cymru is marking 90 years since the first guide dog partnership in Wales with a pop-up shop in St David’s Centre, Cardiff, open daily throughout October. Whether you are a guide dog fan, a sight loss professional, or a member of the public interested in receiving support or a service, you are welcome to call in and find out more.

The shop is stocked with the charity’s latest gifts and cards, plus arts and crafts by visually impaired Welsh artists, including exhibited artist and guide dog owner Sian Healey. There are daily “Pat and Chat” sessions from 11am-1pm where shoppers can meet dogs and puppies, and their owners. Children can take part in creative half-term activities.

Sight loss professionals who would like to know more about Guide Dogs’ huge range of services, so that they can share knowledge with their clients, are welcome to visit and should contact Nathan Foy to make an appointment. Email Nathan.foy@guidedogs.org.uk or ring 07795 611477.

For other enquiries, including the charity’s Donate an Hour scheme for would-be volunteers, please contact Jacquie Hughes-Jones atJacquie.HughesJones@guidedogs.org.uk or 07919 228 635. For general Guide Dogs enquiries please contact Guide Dogs Guide Line on 0800 78 11 444, email Information@guidedogs.org.uk, or visit their website.
