RNIB calls for all railway stations to be made safe for vision impaired travellers

Following the recent tragic death of a partially sighted man who fell off a train platform with no tactile paving to indicate the edge, RNIB has launched a petition calling on Network Rail and the Department of Transport to take action now and make railway stations safe for blind and partially sighted people.

A report by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch found that 'around half of all mainline stations in the UK are also not equipped with this valuable aid to the visually impaired'. You can read the full report here. You can add your support to the petition on RNIB's website.
