RNIB Emergency Mental Health Sessions - additional resources for Wales

Last autumn, RNIB announced the launch of a new Emergency Mental Health Service: free sessions by BACP-registered counsellors with sight loss experience, over the phone, to give emotional support during these difficult times. Now, funds have been secured to allow increased support for people in Wales.

These one-off Emergency Mental Health sessions are proving to be very beneficial. They are not a short cut to sight loss counselling with RNIB but provide an opportunity to speak over the phone with a counsellor who will offer space to share feelings, find some ‘here and now’ coping strategies and explore any further support needs that might be present.

The one-off, hour long sessions will be available until June 2021, and can be booked via the RNIB Helpline, 0303 123 9999, by sending an email to the Counselling and Wellbeing Team mailbox, cwt@rnib.org.uk, or by completing the referral form on the RNIB website.
