World Retinoblastoma Awareness Week - 12th to 18th May

World Retinoblastoma Awareness Week was used to raise awareness of childhood eye cancer. The condition has one of the best cure rates of all the childhood cancers, but early diagnosis is really important.

The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) is the only UK charity solely dedicated to helping families and individuals affected by retinoblastoma, and their website contains lots of useful information for families and professionals. The have recently released a new film, 'Dot the Invisible Friend', which shows how your smartphone can help to save a child's sight. You can see the film here.
