Director

Vanessa Webb has overall responsibility for the management and long-term planning of WCB. She directs its programme of activities, monitors v.i. policies and legislation throughout Wales and the UK.

Administrator

Rebecca Phillips manages WCB's office and provides administrative backup to the Director, the Officers and the committees.

Communications Officer

Richard Bowers carries-out the tasks of converting printed information into braille, large print and audiotape formats. He also advises on accessible information provision, including making web sites accessible, and gives training sessions to public-, voluntary- and private-sector organisations. He designed this web site and is responsible for its ongoing maintenance.

Information Officer

Emma Non John is currently concentrating on the new disability legislation. She is also developing a series of information leaflets on entitlements and benefits and the new legislation as it affects education.

Training Officer 

Nicola Jones is maintaining the Awareness Training Programme. This training is a structured session delivered by visually impaired volunteers. It is tailored to suit the particular group taking part. The latest module being developed is on the visual impairment aspects of the new National Minimum Standards for Care Homes.

Technology Development Officer

Owen Williams researches and promotes the use of computer technology for v.i. people. He surveys existing provision in resources throughout Wales and makes assessments of v.i. individuals' requirements - aiding, where possible, their applications for funding to purchase equipment. He has been coordinating a group who have developed quality assurance standards for providing technology assessments and specifications for visually impaired people and is building up a network of specialist advisors in voluntary organisations throughout Wales.

Funding Manager

Dilwyn Price is responsible for managing the finances of WCB and for income generation. This crucial post has been facilitated by support from Barclays Bank plc and the National Assembly for Wales.
